I'm IU, a sophomore in the Department of International English. I have prepared the fifth installment of our field report, and I would like to share it with you.
On Thursday, February 20, we visited Coronado, a tourist attraction in San Diego, where you can see the city from the Coronado Bridge and the Coronado Hotel, famous for its red-roof, which is much more beautiful than it looks in pictures. I am very glad to have visited there. Coronado is like a resort area, so there are many restaurants, and the people of the town are calm and friendly, so I was able to ask them for food recommendations and enjoy natural conversation, which I feel was a very good experience. One thing that left a particularly strong impression on me was that when I told the security guard on the ferry that I was having trouble recharging my phone, he lent me a charger. I learned that it is important to speak up when you are in trouble or troubled. I was also comforted by the many dogs walking along the seaside. On this day, a sunset market was being held at OceanSide, so we moved from Coronado to OceanSide and had dinner there. It was truly a blissful experience to dine while watching the sun set.
On Friday, February 21, we visited California Adventure. We were surprised at how much larger the park is than in Japan and how short the wait times for attractions were. The weather was also fine, with pleasant temperatures, and we enjoyed our stay well into the evening. The attraction that left the greatest impression on me was the Cars attraction. The fact that it is an attraction that does not exist in Japan is appealing, but I found it very interesting because it not only allowed us to enjoy the atmosphere of Cars with the cars, but also included a screaming race with the group next to us. As for the food, we also had churros, steak salad, smoked turkey legs, and ice cream. I had smoked turkey legs at Disneyland in Japan, and I like them myself, so I ordered them. I was surprised that they were more than twice the size of those in Japan, but they tasted just as juicy and delicious as in Japan. Today was our last optional tour, but we were able to enjoy the tour to the end, and the fact that all of us were able to return home safely was the best thing that could have happened to us.
This is the final installment of our two-week on-site report. To be honest, there was a lot of anxiety during the two weeks, but we learned a lot, and we feel that it was worth it. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the parents and everyone involved for their cooperation in this program.
A s you can see, it was a really valuable experience for all who took part. Welcome back to Japan!
(カリフォルニアでの研修を終えた皆さん、おかえりなさい!これからさまざまな場面で、皆さんの経験を披露してくれることを楽しみにしています。)
