The first report from our students who are studying abroad in California comes from NM. The students arrived safely, toured the big campus for the first time, and met their host families. We are sure they will have a great experience.
（カリフォルニアでの2週間の研修が始まりました。今回は、国際英語学科の5人の学生が参加しています。NMさんが、早速現地での様子を報告してくれました。）

2月9日、私たちは成田空港から約9時間30分かけてサンディエゴ空港へ無事に到着しました。その後、ホストファミリーと初めてお会いしました。私はかなり緊張していましたが、自分のペースに合わせてゆっくり会話をしてくれたため、1日目でホストファミリーとの仲を深めることができました。

次の日は、私たちが約2週間通うキャンパスのツアーに参加しました。キャンパス内は図書館やフリスビーができる庭などがありとても広く、国際色豊かな学生たちと交流もしながら見学しました。ツアーの中で1番印象に残っていることは、大学オリジナルのグッズが販売されていたことです。そこでは、衣服や文房具、アクセサリーまで取り扱っておりとても魅力的でした。私はそこで、記念としてノートを1冊購入しました。

ツアー後は、現地の学生との会話を楽しみながらみんなでランチをしました。現地の学生の会話はとても早く半分は聞き取ることができませんでしたが、英語力を上げたいというモチベーションが上がる良い機会になりました。今後のプログラムでも学生と交流できる機会がたくさんあるため、そこではさらに自分を表現できるようになりたいです。

Welcome refreshments at the university

On February 9th, we safely arrived at San Diego Airport from Narita Airport, which took about 9 hours and 30 minutes. After that, I met my host family for the first time. I was quite nervous, but I was able to deepen my relationship with my host family on the first day because they talked slowly and at my own pace.

The next day, we took a tour of the campus that we will be attending for about two weeks. The campus is very spacious, with a library and a garden where we can play Frisbee, and I toured around the campus while interacting with international students. The most memorable thing about the tour was that original university goods were on sale. The store sold clothing, stationery, and accessories, which was very attractive. I bought a notebook there as a souvenir.

After the tour, we all had lunch together while enjoying conversations with local students. Although I couldn't understand half of the conversations the local students had because they were so fast, it was a great opportunity to increase my motivation to improve my English skills. There will be many opportunities to interact with students in future programs, so I would like to be able to express myself even more there.
