Ayamesai Festival Fun
2024.11.21 英語系
The annual HJU Ayamesai has just been held and the Department of International English were very active on campus. The weather was really good for most of the day and the visitors were treated to food and drink, music and dance, and laughter and smiles all around. There was Bingo too, along with comedy, a fashion show, and a whole host of other events.
(広島女学院大学の大学祭、「あやめ祭」が開催されました。秋晴れの中、国際英語学科の学生たちもご来場くださった方々も、露店やゲームなどのさまざまなイベントを一緒に楽しみ、賑やかな1日となりました。)
One of the indoor activities was a poster session, followed by presentations in English and Japanese, about HJU's Life Career program. KEG students did a great job making their group presentations, and explaining their posters to passers-by.

KEG students took part in modern cultural events such as wonderful dancing performances in collaboration with other university's dance clubs, and also performing with their bands on the outside stage, their lyrics sung out across the whole campus. There was also a karaoke contest on the outside stage.
(ダンス部やフォークソング部によるパフォーマンス、カラオケ大会などもあり、他大学の学生たちも加わって盛り上がりました。)

But it was not just modern culture, we also had tea ceremony on campus, both outdoors and inside. The indoor tea ceremony was performed in a small tatami room that many people don't realize exists on our campus. Students, staff and visitors were treated to some wonderful tea, and the ceremony and the tools used were explained to us so well by HS, a KEG student. It was a great experience for all concerned.

It was great to see some of the high school students who will be joining us from April mixing with our current students, taking photos together and sharing smiles and laughter. It was also lovely to see so many members of the local community join us to enjoy the day on campus.
(来年の春に入学予定の高校生、地域の方々もご家族で来てくださり、楽しい時間を過ごしてくださったようです。)
We're looking forward to the 2025 Ayamesai and we hope to see you there.
