The first of our July Open Campuses has just been held. It was wonderful to meet high school students of all ages and their parents.

Our day started with a slideshow explanation of the International English Department from our Department Chair, in a room decorated with colorful and informative posters.
（まずは学科の説明からスタート。国際英語学科の教室は、毎回学生スタッフが工夫を凝らして飾り付けをし、学科の雰囲気や情報がよく伝わるように仕上げてくれています。）

This was followed by an inclusive mini model class. Students were introduced to a number of different aspects of the wonderful diversity of 21st century English. Visiting high school students worked together with our own department students in a friendly, collaborative environment.

After the model class, the department students took over. They explained about study abroad, campus life at HJU, communication with visiting exchange students, the many opportunities open to all on and off campus, and a whole range of things connected to university study.
（続いて、学生スタッフたちもプレゼンテーションを行いました。留学やキャンパスライフ、そして今回はアメリカからの交換留学生の経験についても話してもらいました。学生生活のさまざまな面について知ってもらえたのではないでしょうか。）

It was then time to use a bit of English with some fun and games. As you can see in the photo below, the environment was very relaxed and friendly.

After the games had finished, there was a chance to speak to Department of English staff and exchange students at the English cafe. There was also a chance to take some time to chat to staff, read the exhibits, and mingle with students from our department. Our visitors asked lots of questions and we were delighted to give them the answers they wanted.
（その後は、"English cafe"で教員や学生とさらに英会話にトライしたり、展示物を見ながら学生生活について質問したりして、最後まで皆さん楽しんでくださったようです。）
