We have just held our first summer Open Campus and we thoroughly enjoyed welcoming high school students and their parents to the International Department of English. It was a really rainy day, but we were so pleased to meet all those who came to join us.
（今年度最初のオープンキャンパスを実施しました。あいにくの雨模様でしたが、国際英語学科に興味を持ってくださっている高校生、保護者の皆様がたくさんお越しくださり、楽しい1日となりました。）

Our fantastic Open Campus staff, in their light blue T-shirts, did a great job as always explaining the opportunities available to students in our department.
（学生スタッフはお馴染みの水色の学科Tシャツを着て、学科の学びや活動について紹介してくれました。）

They also gave insights into what being a student is really like, perhaps giving a perspective that teachers can't quite manage!
（在学生だからこそ話せる学生生活の本音に、高校生も興味津々でした。）

Our students then joined the high school visitors for a taster of a university class - it was a collaborative effort and mirrored our efforts on campus to make our classes as active as possible.
（英語の多様性について学ぶ模擬授業では、学生スタッフも交わり、本学のアクティブラーニングの良さを体験してもらえたのではないでしょうか。）

After some fun English exercises, high school students and their parents had time to take a look at the exhibition materials, and to quiz the teachers about life on campus and opportunities in the department.
（英語のゲームを楽しんだ後は、留学プログラムや活動についての展示を見ながら、さらにリラックスした雰囲気でお話をしました。）

There was also the chance to speak some English with one of our friendly exchange students from the United States and to compare cultures at the same time.
（英会話を楽しむブース"English Cafe"では、アメリカの提携大学からの交換留学生も参加。日本に暮らして体験した異文化について英語で話してくれました。）

And a final few minutes to ask any last-minute questions to our students who helped make the Open Campus so successful.
（高校生の皆さんには大学についてたくさんの疑問がありますが、学生スタッフが丁寧に答えてくれていました。）
