昨年12月、広島県内の7大学による大学交流スクラブル大会が開かれ、広島女学院大学からも5名の学生が出場しました。本学は2014年からこの広島大会に参加しています。

スクラブルとは？

英単語のクロスワードのような語学ゲームです。1卓4人で、プレイします。順番に英単語をボード上に作り、そのポイントを競います。他大学の学生達と交流しながら、英単語に親しみ、頭脳戦術を使い、より高い得点を狙います。初心者から上級者まで、誰でも楽しめます。

It was second time for me to join the competition. I really enjoyed playing Scrabble with students from other schools.

ほぼ初めてプレイしました。今回は奮わない成績だったので、次があるなら練習して、もっといいスコアを取れるよう頑張りたいです。

I participated in the contest not long after I started Scrabble, but I had fun. The situation of competition has made me more concentrated and I've enjoyed being able to scrabble with new people.

This was my first-time playing Scrabble competitively; it was a blast! The event was open to many students from all over Hiroshima, making it possible to interact with a variety of people. It was a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and relax with people who have a similar passion for the game and English language. There was plenty of time to chat with others and the refreshments were an added bonus! I hope the event will continue to flourish and offer many students the chance to interact and have a good time.

Timothy Wilson先生のメッセージ

This was the 10th year the Hiroshima Inter-University Scrabble contest has taken place at the Hiroshima campus of Hiroshima International University. It was the largest so far with more than 60 people taking part in the event, including students from 7 universities in the Hiroshima area, as well as high school students and scrabble-loving teachers. We had an enthusiastic and diverse group representing Hiroshima Jogakuin University and they all played well, made new friends, and had an enjoyable time. The atmosphere at the contest was relaxed and friendly with snacks and drinks provided, and all participants were awarded a prize and a certificate at the end.
