We are very happy to receive news that Marie Kawasaki, one of our GSE students currently studying abroad at University of Tennessee Martin, has been chosen as "Outstanding Student" for the 2018 Summer Term.

（現在、テネシー大学マーティン校に留学中の本学GSE 2年生 川崎まりえさんが、留学先にて優秀学生賞を受賞しました。）

This award reflects her hard work and exceptional contribution to the program in terms of her character, teamwork, and academic effort.

（彼女がクラスメイトと協力し、意欲的に努力を惜しまず勉強に励んで来た結果です。）

As you can see from the photograph, Marie received a certificate recognizing her achievement, and a letter from the teaching staff, who all praised Marie for her hard work.

（受賞時の彼女の様子からも、その努力と達成感が感じられると思います。そして現地の先生も彼女の頑張りを讃えています。）

I am sure that all staff and students will wish to join me in offering Marie our congratulations. I hope that her achievement will serve as an inspiration for further students.

Marie is a joy to have in class. She is always attentive and inquisitive in the classroom. She is kind and generous to others in the classroom as well. Outside of the classroom, she participates in many events and activities. Due to her work ethic inside the class room and cultural engagement outside of the classroom, she will be prosperous throughout the academic year at UTM.

川崎まりえさんからのメッセージ

I am very honored to receive the certificate of scholarly bahavior for outstanding students. I was very anxious about studying abroad in the United States. However, I was able to overcome the anxiety thanks to kind teachers and supportive friends. They enabled to be successful in my studies and adjust to American life. The certificate I received attests to their efforts and will be an encouragement throughout the rest of my studies.
