11月16日（土）、17日（日）に行われた広島女学院大学の大学祭である「あやめ祭」で、GSEコースの学生たちがBobby Lolly Candyという店を出して活動を行いました。以下、GSEコース担当のRobert Dormer先生による活動報告です！

November 16 and 17 was the annual Ayame Festival, a wonderful time for students, staff and people in the local community. There are always a lot of things to see and do, and to eat and drink. Among these, you might have noticed 'Bobby Lolly Candy', a stall featuring GSE students and our special guest Jessica. The students worked together to plan, brand, organise, cost and at the festival itself, sell our products. As you can see from the photos, they did really well and the customers seemed very happy indeed with the products.

HJU, as many of you know, promotes Active Learning, and in my own view, this is an important part of student development not just inside the classroom, but also in our general campus life. I am proud of all the students, who came together and worked very hard in a wonderful spirit. Each team member has their own strengths. Some are good at selling, some are creative, some are well organised, and some (like our 'Boss', Chihiro Nagatani), know when to tell Bobby to stop talking.

11月16日、17日に、年に一度のあやめ祭がありました。学生、スタッフ、そして地域の方々にとって素晴らしいイベントでした。あやめ祭ではたくさんのイベントや出店がありましたが、その中でも、Bobby Lolly Candyという店をご覧になった方もあるかと思います。この店はGSEコースの学生たちによって運営され、あやめ祭で商品を売るために、計画・ブランディング・調達・費用などを皆で考え、活動しました。写真をご覧になってわかるように、学生たちは良い働きをし、お客様は商品を買って本当に嬉しそうでした。多くの方々がご存じの通り、広島女学院大学はアクティブラーニングを促進しています。教室の中で着席して学ぶだけでなく、キャンパスライフの全てを通じて学ぶアクティブラーニングは、学生の成長における重要な点であると私は個人的に考えています。私は精力的に活動をする全ての学生を誇りに思います。一人ひとりのメンバーにそれぞれの強みがあります。接客が得意な学生がいれば、創造性に長けた学生もいますし、皆をまとめることに長けた学生、そしてボビーの長話を止めるタイミングに長けた学生（特に私達のボスである千尋）もいます。

At the stall, the girls sold candy from around the world, and flavored sodas in a range of premium flavors. Both were very popular, and in the final hour of the festival, every single item and drink was fully 'sold out'. The team wants to thank every single customer for visiting and being generous enough to try the products. We saw many familiar and many new faces during the weekend, and it was a lot of work, but importantly, a lot of fun, too.
As some customers may have noticed, all the profits from this year will be donated to help extra Vietnamese students participate in Global Village Field Experience in August 2020. As many GSE students know, sharing the fieldwork with our partners is an important part of this course, and many of the girls running the stall this year are still good friends with the vietnames students from previous Global Village experiences.

私たちのお店では、世界中のお菓子を集めた詰め合わせと、特別なフレーバーのソーダドリンクを販売しました。どちらも非常に人気で、あやめ祭の終了間際には、全ての商品とドリンクが完売しました。私たちのチームでは、お客様一人ひとりに対して、来店と商品を買ってくださった感謝を伝えました。二日間を通して、多くの知り合いが来店してくれただけでなく、新しい出会いもありました。非常に多い仕事量でしたが、大切なことは、皆がとても楽しんでいたことです。来店して気づいた方もいらっしゃるかと思いますが、利益の全額は2020年8月のGlobal Village Field Experience（GSEメジャーのベトナム研修プログラム）の、ベトナム人学生の支援のために寄付されます。多くのGSEメジャー学生が知っている通り、ベトナム人のパートナーたちとこのフィールドワークを共有することがこのコースの重要な点であり、そして今回の出店を運営した学生たちの多くが過去のGlobal Village Field Experiencesで出会ったベトナム人学生たちの友達でもあります。

In addition to the sweet candy and delicious drinks, many customers played the game 'Jess's Guesses', where they tried to estimate the number of jellybeans in a large jar. This is quite a traditional British game, where the best guess wins the whole jar. Imagine the surprise when in the first hour of the festival, Sekitani-sensei guessed the correct number of 1212 perfectly! Some staff members wondered if he has some magic abilities. Congratulations to him!　Speaking personally, I want to take a moment to thank (in no particular order) Jess (Fuyuka), Cheesehero, Toshimi, Marie, Nana, Rena, Himari, Aoba, Nagisa, and Marika. Their hard work and never ending supply of positive energy always teaches me a lot about life. I hope that they are not too tired to join again next year, and I am looking forward to welcoming new members, too.

また、美味しいお菓子の詰め合わせとドリンクに加えて、多くのお客様がJess's Guessesというゲームを楽しんでくださいました。これは、大きな瓶に入っているゼリービーンズの数を予想して当てるというもので、イギリスでは伝統的なゲームです。実際の数と予想が最も近かった参加者が、ゼリービーンズが入った瓶ごともらえます。なんと、あやめ祭の開始一時間で来てくださった関谷先生が、正解の数を完璧に予想しました！答えは1212個でした！関谷先生には魔法の能力があるのかと思ったスタッフもいました。関谷先生おめでとうございます！個人的な話をすると、夕香、千尋、利美、まりえ、奈々、玲奈、日葵、青羽、渚沙、そして鞠香（順不同）に私は感謝の意を述べたいと思います。彼女たちの活動と尽きることのないポジティブなエネルギーはいつも私に人生について教えてくれます。私は彼女たちが来年もまたあやめ祭に参加することを願い、そして来年新しいメンバーを迎えて活動することができるのを楽しみにしています。
